About the role
Science makes most sense when children understand the “why” as well as the facts. As a Science Tutor you will turn tricky concepts in biology, chemistry and physics into clear explanations, and help older pupils revise with confidence ahead of their exams.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver science sessions across biology, chemistry and physics
- Explain concepts clearly and check understanding regularly
- Support exam technique, revision and recall for older pupils
- Share progress updates with parents
Skills and qualities we’re looking for
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for science
- A clear, patient way of explaining ideas
- Reliability and good organisation
- Confident communication with children and parents
Experience
- Strong science subject knowledge
- Experience teaching or tutoring children
